Job Description: Asphalt Foreman
The Asphalt Foreman is a supervisory position responsible for overseeing and coordinating asphalt paving projects from start to finish. This role requires strong leadership, project management skills, and technical expertise in asphalt paving. The Asphalt Foreman works closely with paving crews, equipment operators, and other construction team members to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning: Collaborate with project managers to plan and organize asphalt paving projects, including scheduling, resource allocation, and logistics.Team Supervision: Lead and supervise the asphalt paving crew, providing direction, training, and support to ensure efficient and safe operations.Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure asphalt surfaces meet specifications for thickness, compaction, and smoothness.Equipment Coordination: Oversee the operation and maintenance of asphalt paving equipment, coordinating with operators to maximize performance and uptime.Safety Management: Enforce safety protocols and regulations, conduct safety meetings, and address safety concerns promptly.Material Management: Coordinate delivery and handling of asphalt materials to ensure adequate and timely supply.Communication: Maintain clear communication with project managers, crews, and other stakeholders regarding progress, issues, and workflow.Problem Solving: Identify and resolve issues such as equipment malfunctions, weather impacts, or unforeseen site conditions.Cost Management: Monitor labor, materials, and equipment usage to stay within project budgets.Documentation: Maintain accurate daily reports, material tracking, and records of any deviations from project plans.Requirements
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of asphalt paving experience, with demonstrated crew leadership and project oversight.Leadership Skills: Strong ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams effectively.Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of asphalt paving operations and equipment, with the ability to operate equipment as needed.Safety Focus: Strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication with crews, management, and clients.Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to quickly identify issues and implement solutions to keep projects on track.Organizational Skills: Strong planning and time-management abilities.Adaptability: Ability to adjust to changing project demands, weather conditions, and jobsite challenges.Computer Skills: Basic proficiency with project management software, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.Dependability: Reliable, punctual, and consistent in meeting deadlines and expectations.Successful completion of a drug screening.Valid state drivers license with a clean driving record.Flexibility to work day and night shifts, including out-of-town assignments in Oregon and Idaho.Weekend availability.Ability to work in all weather conditions.Why Join AC Moate Industries?
