The Opportunity This position works out of our Altavista, VA location in the Abbott Nutrition division. This position is out of our NEW Distribution Center. Our Nutrition business develops science-based nutrition products for people of all ages, from helping babies and children grow to keeping adult bodies strong and active. What Youll Work On Coordinate timely and accurate flow of materials from warehouse inventory to desired areas Coordinate timely accurate flow of finished products to support shipments to customers and other destinations Responsible for loading and unloading of material with the use of a forklift Via use of Cambar radio frequency inventory system, the employee stores, picks, or assembles finished product for shipment Understand and properly utilize ship orders and associated warehouse paperwork and RF terminals for shipping/receiving finished product. Maintain proper FIFO flow of finished products. Includes operation of a forklift truck with a push-pull attachment (reach forklift) Store, pick or assemble finished goods within the warehouse, verifying the item number, quantity, release status, and lot number. The Opportunity This position works out of our Sturgis, MI location in the Abbott Nutrition division. What Youll Work On Material supply to production areas and related activities Incoming material receipt and storage GMP cleaning Other duties as assigned by leadership Supply materials in a timely manner to the customer Assist in the unloading of various materials Effectively utilize the MITS (Material Inventory Tracking System) to locate and deliver items based on FEFO (First Expiration, First Out) Effectively utilize MITS to accurately scan materials when moved materials are in the location they are scanned to Must be able to read a production schedule and use to anticipate the needs of the customer Drive a fork lift safely and effectively, moving a variety of load types, using various storage methods (stacking, drive-in racks, push back racks, etc) without damage to material or facility Understand and adhere to all storage requirements including allergen, plastics, oils, etc. Ability to work OT during the week and on weekends Youll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures. Required Qualifications High School Diploma/GED Prior forklift experience or the ability to quickly learn the skill Good communication skills Makes safety a priority Has an understanding of cGMPs (current good manufacturing practices) Able to self-direct work In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
