    Job DescriptionJob Description

👋 I’m Tommy, and I’m the CEO of A1 Garage Door. I’m glad you’re here.

I started the company in 2007, and we have since grown to cover almost half the United States. Our vision is to become America’s largest and most trusted garage door company.

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for handling our Annual Maintenance Club Tune Ups. Our team will train you on everything you need to know to thrive in your very own market.  No previous experience with garage doors required, we got you!

    You Should Apply If:

🎯You love to make things work perfectly

🗣️You can explain mechanical things in a simple way

💡You like to help people and solve problems for them

️‍⚙️Your peers describe you as methodical, reliable and trustworthy

    📈 You’re self-motivated and enjoy working autonomously

️‍️‍⚡You move fast, you’re always busy and no task is too small or too big

🛠️You should DEFINITELY apply if you have experience with repairs and maintenance in the home service industry, manufacturing, automotive,  etc.

    You Shouldn’t Apply If:

You prefer working where there are no customers to talk to

You think that manual labor is for other people

You are not weather resistant (hot/cold depending on geography)

You are not likely to follow what you were taught in class and apply it with gusto

    The Job:

Handling our Annual Maintenance Club Tune Ups

Complete garage door Inspections, following a check list

Handling call back visits when we don’t get it right the first time

Focus on turning negative experiences into positive experiences

Educate customer on their door and findings from the inspection

Receiving POs for the warehouse and updating inventory with the exact counts

Assisting the Area Manager or Market Lead with load outs for techs and installers

Maintaining physical counts in warehouse and updating Inventory

    Basic Requirements:

Be nice! I know, we shouldn’t have to say that, but we mean it.

Able to bend, climb, kneel and stand for long periods

    Physically able to lift 50lbs

Valid driver’s license for at least 3 years with a clean driving record

Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test (not including THC) and criminal background check

Knowledge of basic software such as navigation apps, Google etc as well as tablet and computer use

    Basic knowledge of hand tools

GED or HS diploma not required, however reading skills as well as basic math skills (measurements, payments) are required.

    Professional appearance

Employment requires current eligibility to legally work in the United States

The Journey of a Maintenance Technician:

Our apprenticeship is a 4 week training program at the A1 Training Academy in Phoenix, AZ.

A1 covers flights and accommodations for the duration of your training in Phoenix. (You will typically work 45-50 hours a week while an apprentice and qualify for overtime for hours over 40 in a week.)

Once you complete training, you will receive a one thousand dollar bonus, and graduate to a junior maintenance technician. You will perform your duties in and around your market. Boom!

    Interview Process:

Our interview process is not long, but it’s thorough. We want to make sure that each person who joins the team is the right fit for A1. And that we are the right fit for you!

After we review your application, you will be contacted for an interview with a recruiter if we want to know more. Plan on up to 45 minutes.

Next step is an interview with the Area manager. Plan on approximately 30 minutes.

Next step is when the fun begins: you will be invited to ride along with one of our technicians so you can see what life at A1 is really like. Plan on ½ day.

    Benefits and other cool stuff:

    · Medical, dental, vision, 401K

    · Paid Time Off

    · Weekly Pay

    · Internal Promotion opportunities

    · Company swag

(Please note: benefits are not available for part time, temporary or contract roles)
