Business hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Overtime available.Minimum 1-2 years’ experience preferred. Inspections for buildings located in NYC, Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, Staten Island, Nassau & Suffolk Counties.Ideal candidate should have valid S12 & S13 Certificates of Fitness, Nassau County Fire Marshal Certificate of Fitness Type 2 and must have a valid, clean driver’s license.Inspectors must have the ability to use technology to keep track of all inspections done as well as submit to work order system based in-office. Knowledge of NFPA 25 required.Salary commensurate with experience. Job DescriptionJob DescriptionFire Sprinkler Designer / Engineer with a minimum of 2 years experience in the fire sprinkler contracting industry. The qualified candidate will have knowledge in the fire sprinkler installation industry and will possess the ability to design and work on daily ongoing projects and complete them in a timely manner. Business hours are Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. Projects are performed in the 5 boroughs of New York City, Long Island (Nassau and Suffolk), and other areas in the region as needed.Applicants should have a working knowledge and experience with:Designing fire sprinkler systems in their entirety, including standpipes, Siamese and FDC connections, valve lay-out and pump set-ups, riser placement, main supply and branch lines, and the use of different sprinkler headsPerform hydraulic calculations for sprinkler systemsDetail the design for fabrication, prepare stock lists, cut sheets and prepare installation drawingsExperience using SprinkCAD and/or AutoSprink (or similar software), HydraCAD, and Calculation ProgramsExtensive, comprehensive knowledge and use of AutoCADPerforming site visits and identifying field conditions not in accordance with design parametersExecuting walk-throughs before, during, and after constructionJob close-out including the assembly of as-built drawingsKnowledge of working with threaded and mechanical fittings within the scope of designWorking with 2D and 3D modeling of buildings and sprinkler systemCoordination with customer and other trades/companiesBIM Software and Coordination experience a plus
