    Responsibilities:


    · Retrieves items from shelves and storerooms, set up cleaning carts with supplies for daily use, constantly organizing carts, and storerooms in a clean and orderly fashion.

    · Cleans and wipes windows, doors, walls, closets and fixtures in rooms, public areas, and hallways, to maintain a clean and presentable facility at all times.

    · You must use ladders or stools occasionally to clean hard to reach areas.

    · Wash shower walls and tub, cleans toilet(s) and stall walls if applicable, wipes exposed pipes, cleans mirrors, sink(s) and walls.

    · Replace towels, soaps and all room amenities. Restock literature that has been removed or soiled by previous guests to ensure hotel standards for arriving guests.

    · Wash all hard floor areas (linoleum, tile, etc.) by hand to remove dirt and soiled areas.

    · Dust and polish all furniture, fixtures and wall hangings including using a duster to reach vents and ceiling corners.

    · Strip bed of all linen and remake with fresh linen. Check bedspread, blankets and bed pads for cleanliness and replace if soiled. Lift mattresses to check for soil between mattresses and under bed.

    · Check closet for cleanliness, wiping closet door, handle, overhead shelves, and restocking the guest room supplies such as hangers, extra blankets, and pillows.

    · Vacuum rooms, public areas and hallways, operating vacuums weighing up to 25lbs., and lifting/moving heavy furniture in order to vacuum the entire area of carpet including underneath furniture and hard reaching areas.

    · Inspect all door and window locks to ensure they are in working order and alert management to an unsecured or unsafe situation for the safety of guests and employees.

    · Inspects all room equipment (TV, lights/lamps, faucets, docking stations and I pods) to ensure proper working order and report any rooms with deficiencies in writing to the Housekeeping Supervisor and/or Housekeeping Manager for prompt repair/resolution.

    · Secures and maintains custody of equipment, keys and always supplies in order to protect and preserve hotel property.

    · Maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times.

    · Performs other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.

    · Cleans patio /balcony areas by sweeping or hosing the floor and wiping down all furniture and fixtures, picking up garbage and cleaning patio/balcony doors and windows.

    · Aids other employees and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and hotel.

    Qualifications

    · Able to work flexible hours (nights, weekends).

    · Responsible, dependable, punctual.

    · Must be able to understand and follow verbal/written instructions and communicate both verbally and in writing.

    · Clean and professional appearance.

    · Must pass a background check.

    Physical Qualifications:


    · Must be able to maneuver fully loaded maid cart, weighing up to 50lbs., through hallways and into/out of closets during entire workday.

    · Must be able to bend down and get on and off floor numerous times per day.

    Facilitate daily/weekly/monthly sales contests for teams in all meal periods to improve sales.


    Sales Team + Events:

    Partner with the Sales Manager / Social & Events Manager to drive revenue and exposure to the property, restaurant and events.

    Explore, with hotel GM & DOSM, the best ways to creatively market the brand and the property. Must be efficient with current trends in electronic media and be comfortable in exploiting those to benefit the property.

    Field all guest requests, menus, special requests, etc.

    Lead the charge when planning and developing special events. Delegates to the management team in order to adequately prepare for events (Derby, Bourbon Heritage Month etc.) and so that all bases are covered.

    Assist Catering Event Sales & Event Manager with driving revenue, maintaining service, winning business.

    Field donation requests w/GM & Executive Assistant.

    Supervise special promotions and events held in the restaurant.


    Job Requirements:

    Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field is preferred.

    Minimum five to eight years’ experience in a high-volume, high-quality restaurant.

    Some hotel property experience is preferred.

    Minimum two years management/supervisory experience.

    Must be able to show enthusiasm for the team, restaurant, events, the brand, and the culture.

    Oversees all day-to-day operations of Front Desk staff, ensuring that all established front office and hotel policies are followed.

    Greets and completes established check-in procedures for arriving guests daily, using both manual and computerized methods, to ensure guests are satisfied and in rooms as requested.

    Facilitates guest departure (check-out) daily by following established manual and computer procedures to close guest accounts and open the suite for the next sell.

    Regularly calculates and/or posts monies, receipts, guest accounts and other forms of credit using accurate, proper cash handling methods and established procedures to present the customer with timely and precise hotel charges upon check-out and maintain accurate hotel records.

    Courteously answers inquiries and accepts reservations, both in person and by telephone, by accurately communicating hotel rates and information and by using suggestive selling techniques to sell room nights, increase occupancy and revenue.

    Maintains good customer relations by keeping abreast of all in-house and area functions to answer questions and concerns with timely and knowledgeable responses in person and on the telephone.

    Maximizing revenue in each phone/desk transaction.

    Controls cash transactions at the front desk and maintains complete responsibility for personal bank as specified by hotel bank agreement policy.

    Maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor always.

    Performs other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.

    Processes all guest mail, messages and faxes by receiving, sorting, notifying and distributing to mailboxes and to guests to ensure the information is received by the guests in the most timely and accurate method possible.

    Reviews all guest issues, contacts appropriate department for resolution, determines recovery, follows up with guest, and maintains log of the incident. Reports issues to manager, escalating immediately when appropriate.

    Contributes and maintains established information and communication sources such as department and front desk logbooks to enhance department communications and operations.

    Ensures that the AM shift, and PM shift sheet are completed each day.



    Qualifications:

    Know standard cash handling procedures and knowledge of computerized cash register systems.

    Must have experience in dealing directly with the public and acquired general knowledge of basic customer service skills.

    Must be fluent in English.

    Must be able to understand and follow verbal/written instructions, work on more than one task at a time, and be able to communicate both verbally and in writing.

    Must be able to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations.

    Must be highly organized and able to pay attention to minute written and verbal details, particularly when performing multiple tasks.
