Aspect's geotechnical engineering staff tackle challenges on a variety of complex projects all over the northwest ranging from bridge replacements, landslide stabilization, transportation and roadway design, water, and wastewater conveyance and treatment, reservoirs and dams, mid- and high-rise buildings, steep-slope sensitive areas, and floodplain and natural habitat restoration.
    Our geotechnical engineers are supported by a diverse and talented group of engineering geologists, hydrogeologists, water resource engineers, CAD/GIS professionals, and technical editors; conversely, our geotechnical engineers also support dynamic projects within Aspect's environmental and water resource practices.     Job Description:
    Work directly and closely with Aspect geotechnical engineers and engineering geologists to learn core skills and how to effectively apply engineering strategies and solutions on various tasks.
    Direct and document subsurface explorations, instrumentation, and laboratory testing of soils and rock.
    Participate in a broad suite of geotechnical engineering analyses, including slope stability analyses, seismic evaluations, shallow and deep foundation design, ground improvement design, excavation and shoring evaluations, and other challenging technical evaluations.
    Participate in plan sheet development and material quantity estimates for site/grading plans and retaining walls using AutoCAD.
    Assist in preparing strategic, tailored, and cutting-edge deliverables such as written reports, figures, and maps with a team of professionals.
    Collaborate with project teams outside of Aspect, including clients, architects, engineers, and contractors, to share project information, objectives, and geotechnical engineering recommendations.
    Conduct construction oversight to ensure the successful completion of projects.

    Participate in ongoing education and training opportunities in geotechnical engineering, project and task management, and consulting.

Education and/or Experience: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education or related field or equivalent combination of experience and education; however, lived experience and international experience considered in lieu of more traditional, U.S. achieved credentials. * Minimum two (2) years of teaching/training working with Adult Learners. * Experience administering CASAS appraisals, pre-, and post-tests. * Experience with remote instruction a plus. * Committed to working with and supporting diverse communities. * Ability to simplify and communicate complex ideas and tasks. Experience teaching/training students who may not have any formal education. * Must be committed to creating and sustaining a learning environment in which students feel safe, supported and encouraged; foster an environment that is inclusive, culturally rich, and bias free. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and facilitation abilities. * Willingness and ability to exercise sound professional judgement on issues of sensitivity. * Remote and occasional weekend work required. * May require evening instruction. * Must be able to meet travel requirements of up to 10% of work time locally and statewide. Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations: * CPR/First Aid Certification a plus. * State of Washington teaching certification/credential or equivalent a plus. Computer/Technology Skills: * Highly proficient with web-based applications (Google Workspace), video conferencing, cloud computing, local area networks (LANs), and Microsoft Office. * Ability to learn new technology and software as related to the job. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required sit for long periods of time, communicate with other employees by talking and hearing and to operate computer systems. Able to safely lift/push/pull up to 25 lbs., grasp, handle, finger and manipulate items; perform repetitive fine motor functions with fingers, wrists, and arms, standing for long periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Able to communicate with others effectively both verbally and written, including those who have limited English skills. Maintain reliable attendance.     Essential Functions of an IPS Teaching Fellow
    Support Lead Teacher in Implementing High Quality Classroom Instruction
    Collaborate with lead teacher to build an empowering learning environment that excites and invests students in their learning
    Work with lead teacher in delivery of daily instructional program, including literacy, math, and social emotional learning lessons
    Exemplify IPS's core values in all interactions with students, families, and colleagues
    Implement academic interventions for students based on data
    Serve as a Mentor to Students
    Coach, support and advocate for mentees throughout their academic career
    Start each day with student mentees to set and monitor their goals
    In Collaboration with Colleagues, Plan and Execute an Enrichment Class
    Plan weekly lessons based on IPS instructional frameworks
    Implement lessons aligned with IPS core instructional and behavioral practices
    Reflect on progress made after each lesson
    Commit to Professional Learning, Development, and Growth
    Engage in regular coaching with an instructional coach
    Actively participate in ongoing professional development

    COVID Vaccination
