    We have Special Education Teacher positions open in both our Kiefer School and Academy for Autism.

    Kiefer School provides special education for children who experience difficulty in their home school due to severe emotional, behavioral and/or learning challenges. The goal is to improve a child's ability to function within the public school setting by providing intensive intervention in small classrooms and a range of treatment and support services to the student and their family. Kiefer is an AdvancEd accredited, ISBE-approved private school.

    Our Academy for Autism serves students ages 5-22 with an educational or medical diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Through intervention with ISBE licensed educators and teacher assistants in each classroom and small class sizes, our students are able to find their pathway to success using innovative tools and techniques geared towards those with Autism.

    A Special Education Teacher provides academic and behavioral instruction to students on a daily basis in a classroom of up to 10 students. They play a critical role in that they carry out the IEP requirements for each student in their daily programming. They are the main change agent for students' academic and behavioral growth and serve as a role model. A Special Education Teacher must not only provide for the academic needs of students, but also for the social skill and behavioral needs as well.

    Our schools operate on a traditional calendar from August through May. Both schools operate a 30 instructional day summer program.
