Project Manager
Research Information Services Team
Location in Memphis, TN (one week a month onsite, balance remote)
Rate based on experience - W-2 or C2C
Data Center / HPC experience required
To manage complex infrastructure and development projects within the Research Information Services group at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
This role supports basic science research by overseeing projects involving High-Performance Computing (HPC) hardware installations, laboratory instruments, and cloud environments.
The PM will be responsible for coordinating deployments in both the main data center and Colocation (Colo) facilities.
Core Requirements
Education: Bachelors Degree .
Experience: 7 years of relevant project management experience across multiple domains.
Certification: Active PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is required.
Infrastructure Expertise: A proven track record of managing infrastructure installations, specifically involving HPC hardware and data center environments.
DevOps Proficiency: Direct experience managing DevOps-related projects and workflows.
Communication: Exceptional collaboration and presentation skills are required to interact with executive stakeholders, front-line management, and system users.
Change Management: High level of professionalism and change management savvy to influence stakeholders and navigate trade-offs regarding scope and requirements.
Location: Local candidates in the
Memphis area are highly recommended and preferred. This position require a week a month on site.
Preferred Qualifications & SkillsTechnical Environment: Experience with Cloud technologies (Azure)
, Networking, Virtualization, and HPC environments.
AI Integration: Experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to optimize project management workflows, or previous experience managing AI-related research projects.
Tooling: Proficiency with ServiceNow PPM is highly preferred for project tracking, along with familiarity with Azure DevOps or JIRA.
Methodology: Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum Alliance, SAFe) and experience leading Agile teams.
Industry Knowledge: Background in a multi-disciplinary healthcare or academic research environment, specifically supporting healthcare informatics or basic science.
Business Analysis: Strong skills in understanding complex subject matter within a technical IT and research environment\nCompany Description
