    Business Development Director – Engineering Services

    Global Engineering and Construction Firm – Houston, TX 

    Our Client is seeking a Director of Business Development (BD Director) to provide strategic and collaborative leadership to help grow our Engineering Services business and EPC projects. Focused on the Gulf Coast US region, the BD Director will be responsible for growth and development of client relationships and direct sales in industrial and energy markets including refining, chemical, power, energy transition and other manufacturing sectors. The Director of Business Development will report to the Senior Vice President of Engineering Business Development. The position requires direct customer engagement and leadership across the complete sales cycle (prospect identification through closing) for engineering services agreements and new business including studies, front-end project development, and detailed engineering for capital and expense projects; and EPC projects with assigned customer accounts. The BD Director will also be responsible for client relationship management and account planning responsibilities. The BD Director will work out of Our Client’s Engineering office in Houston, Texas.

    RESPONSIBILITIES  
    Build effective, long term client relationships and grow engineering-driven sales revenue with clients in the Gulf Coast Region.
    Establish effective business contacts with prospective clients and professional trade organizations to promote capabilities and services
    Sell effectively using virtual meeting platforms and in-person, traveling to client sites, regional offices and industrial facilities
    Prepare and deliver presentations to prospective clients regarding our experience and capabilities
    Provide leadership across the sales cycle, from opportunity identification through proposal submittal
    Regularly meet with project managers, client account managers and site representatives to identify business and relationship forging opportunities
    Communicate effectively and frequently with teammates within Engineering and across other Business Groups using call reports, email, virtual chat applications and phone
    Identify strategies to improve Engineering’s competitive, financial and strategic positioning
    Research industry trends and provide senior management with associated business development potential
    Other duties as assigned
    REQUIREMENTS 
    Bachelor’s Degree from a four- year accredited college or university
    10+ years' successful, relevant industry experience, including at least five years of experience selling engineering services and/or client account management
    In-depth knowledge and understanding of the engineering and construction services environment for clients in target industrial sectors
    Strategic thinker, capable of engaging clients at multiple levels including decision-makers in exploratory and consultative conversations to identify distinctive value and solutions to their engineering and project needs 
    Relationship driven; effective at selling professional services and motivated to develop relationships with new clients and business partners
    Demonstrated leadership and ability to work well with others in a collaborative, transparent, teamwork-oriented culture
    Experience with contracts and contract negotiation
    Comfortable and effective interacting with clients and suppliers at industry events and building good rapport and professional relationships
    Exceptional listener with excellent communication and presentation skills
    Able to travel frequently, working effectively away from the office (50% travel or more)
    Proficient in Microsoft office tools including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams
     PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    BS Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred; other engineering, technical or business degrees considered if coupled with a fundamental technical understanding of the engineering services business and relevant work experience
    Experience working as an engineer or project manager on projects with clients in the food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, oil refining, chemical, petrochemical, power or other industrial/manufacturing sectors
    The ideal candidate would also have the potential for expanded Business Development roles selling additional industrial services including turnarounds, general mechanical maintenance, capital projects and construction
    Experience selling capital EPC projects, construction services, turnarounds or maintenance
     PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, video conferencing apps, email, use of arm/hand steadiness, manual dexterity, finger dexterity, multi-limb coordination, oral expression, and comprehension. May be required to lift, carry and move objects safely. Position may include visits to construction sites and industrial facilities requiring mobility (on ground and at heights) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hardhat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and work boots.
    WORK ENVIRONMENT
    Work is primarily in a general office setting, but will periodically work in multiple environments including an office, hotel while traveling or building on an industrial site. On construction/industrial sites, noise levels will be moderate to high. Sites may contain the following: light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling, and talking. Noise levels vary and may include bells, whistles, and alarms.

    Assisting in planning and execution of critical wells

    Position Description


    This compliance position will support the Kinder Morgan (KM) Liquids Business Units. The position will:
    Assist and support Liquids Business Units with all aspects of Pipeline Safety compliance with regulatory agencies.
    Assist in maintaining Liquids Business Units procedures, codes, and standards to ensure compliance with federal and applicable state regulations, and to accurately reflect Liquids Business Units current practices. Compile and analyze release and compliance data
    Assist in maintaining, on an on-going basis, the Liquids Business Units Operations, Engineering and Emergency Response Procedures to ensure compliance with federal and applicable state regulations
    Assist in coordinating the Management of Change processes associated with revised procedure development and implementation
    Assist in monitoring federal and applicable state pipeline safety regulations to ensure Liquids Business Units procedures are compliant

    Assist in preparation of responses to governmental agencies, Industry Associations or KM Management as required

    Position Requirements

    Qualifications/Requirements:
    High School Diploma or GED
    10 years minimum of maintenance and repair experience CNC/Manual machines including the following:
    Mazak Lathes, Vertical Mills & Interrex Machines
    Okuma
    Weiler
    Monarch Mills
    Unisig Deep Hole Drilling
    Sunnen Hones
    Mori Seiki
    Electrical / Electronic knowledge on CNC/Manual machines
    Problem Solving Skills
    Self-Starter - Able to perform task without direct supervision
    Must be willing to work overtime and alternative hours as business requires
    Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship



    Essential Responsibilities:
    Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all machines and equipment to manufactures recommendations
    Ability to diagnose/troubleshoot maintenance repairs and malfunctions
    Dismantling and installation of machines and equipment
    Preventative Maintenance of all machines & equipment
    Ensuring all machines and equipment safety features are compliance with manufacturers and Baker Hughes guidelines & procedures
    Training for other team members
    Able to perform above task without direct supervision
    Coordinating special projects

    Position Description


    PRIMARY PURPOSE
    Provide technical support, leadership and oversight to all commercial, operational, regulatory and maintenance activities as assigned within the KM Treating Business Unit, including gas conditioning, dehydration, project management and construction activities.
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
    Project management, including AFE creation, scope development, project construction, cost tracking
    Amine treating, MRU, and TEG dehydration equipment sizing and specification
    Communicate directly with internal and external customers
    Material / equipment procurement
    Contracting and bidding work
    Contract evaluation (construction and commercial)
    Basic project economic evaluation
    Cost estimating and generation of AFE's
    Development of project schedules
    Ability to mentor less experienced staff
    Project / construction management (cost and schedule controls)
    Job level will commensurate with experience and knowledge



    Position Requirements


    EDUCATION
    B.S. Mechanical Engineering or B.S. Chemical Engineering desired, other Engineering disciplines will be considered based on work experience


    EXPERIENCE/SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE
    >5 years industry experience
    Knowledge of amine treating, MRU, and dehydration design, and related industry equipment operations, maintenance codes and practices, working knowledge of field construction.
    Amine and MRU modeling-simulation experience (Promax)
    Working knowledge of P&IDs, PFDs and control logic
    Will be required to make frequent trips to the field
    Valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to company and insurer
    Must be able to manage the field construction team
    Ability to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required job schedule(s), focus attention on details, and follow work rules as well as work with minimum supervision

    As an Extruder, you will help support the extrusion process of our innovative, unique non-metallic piping products. You will be part of a collaborative team that plays an integral link in delivering our cutting-edge equipment to our customers and ensuring the highest quality.


    As an Extruder, you will be responsible for:
    Under direct supervision, setting up, monitoring, and operating various piece of equipment associated with the manufacturing facility requirements (packager,co-ex extrusion, magline, plastic extruder, and PCP injection)
    Operating multiple machines at one time, repairing, patching or splicing HDPE Pipe
    Performing quality assurance activities as required by manufacturing/engineering specifications and ISO requirements using mics, calipers and tape measure.
    Following internal processes to ensure integrity, safety, compliance and quality
    Identifying and implementing enhancements to products, processes and procedures to improve efficiency and run LEAN team
    Operating industrial forklift trucks and overhear cranes

    Have a High School Diploma or GED
    Have minimum 1+ year of related experience
    Have experience in a Manufacturing environment, focusing on extrusion processes
    Display the ability to identify and resolve problems and be able to implement effective improvements
    Show excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
    Have a good understanding of IT software such as MS Office, Oracle experience a plus

    Be able to read and interpret routine instructions and perform basic mathematical calculations.
