Level: Entry Job Location: Position Type: Full Time Education Level: High School Travel Percentage: Up to 25% Job Shift: Day Job Category: Skilled Labor Trades GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION The Technician is a heavy equipment mechanic that specializes in maintaining and repairing cranes. This position mayperform routine maintenance like lubricating parts as well as fixing other problems when the crane malfunction. TheTechnician position work in a safety-first type of environment. HCSG is a 24/7 service company that requirestechnicians to be available on-call and provide after hour or even weekend services as required due to customer needs. DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES Must be able to be on-call and provide after hour services as required. Troubleshooting repairing inspecting and upgrading industrial hoists and cranes in the field at customerlocations. Perform OSHA required hoist and crane inspections and generating inspection reports and repair orders. Communicate with the Service Manager and Branch Manager during the day so that work can be scheduledand completed on a daily basis. Operate tools equipment and vehicles in a safe and responsible manner. Notify immediate supervisor of anydeficiencies. Maintain the ability to work with others in team environment. Attend company provided trainings and seminars as required. Participate in HCSG 5 Marks program Other duties as assigned PHYSICAL DEMANDS The work is labor intensive. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on a daily basis. Must be able to lift up to 100lbs on a rarebasis. This position requires 90% of frequent climbing balancing stooping/crouching overhead reaching bendingsquatting and prolonged standing and sitting. It requires occasional pushing pulling kneeling and crawling. Theposition also involves great hand and eye coordination. Heights exceeding over 50 feet from time to time are normal toincur on a daily basis to maintain a crane. Employee will be required to travel from time to time (20 50%) and must bewilling to work various shifts to accommodate needs of HCSG branches and customers. This includes on-call andovertime. Travel out of town may be required at the discretion of the company. WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is normally performed inside or outside (pending customer requirements) with varying degrees of extreme hot andcold temperatures depending on the weather. During summer months temperatures can exceed 120 degrees. Thisposition will be frequently exposed to noise heights fumes dust and odors. These calculations are performed using well-defined methods. 35% - Grinding The technician will assemble grinders and grind materials for full-scale propellant mixes and weigh material bins to correct weight for propellant mixing. Technician is responsible for disassembly cleaning and re-assembly of full-scale grinding equipment. 5% - Other duties as assigned - Such as but not limited to: AP prep for grinding bowl plugging for mixing Prototype motor casting development sample preparation and support of new production initiatives and schedules.
