    Job description Throughout our over 75-year history, Goodwin Brothers' job has been to build. Come build with us. Goodwin Brothers is looking for a Job Cost Accountant. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 5 years of accounting experience with knowledge of accounting in the construction industry. POSITION SUMMARY: The Job Cost Accountant is responsible for the entire scope of job cost accounting duties. These duties include: setting up new projects/new project estimates, reconciling internal and external change orders, creating cost codes, validating both subcontract and non-subcontract invoice coding, sales tax exemption and overall invoice dollar accuracy. The position also supports the analysis of project performance by updating internal cost trending reports, revenue forecasting and other analysis used in the assessment of project financial performance. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 2-5 experience in field of accounting Experience in the construction industry is preferred Degree in accountancy or similar finance field strongly preferred Must currently live in the St. Louis metro area JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Review subcontractor invoices and reconcile subcontractor's records to GBC contract documents and payment history. Resolve any issues with project management and route for approval. Review non-subcontractor job cost invoices for coding accuracy, dollar accuracy and sales tax compliance. Create new projects in Sage job cost and accounting modules. Reconcile the job cost system to supporting schedules. Export cost codes and estimates pertaining to new projects to Sage job cost. Review internal and external change order documentation submitted by project management. Enter accepted change orders to the job cost module. Update monthly cost category level trending analysis in Excel for each active project. Update summary level profit margin trending analysis by project in Excel. Verify contract values on pay apps match contract documents and accounting records. Investigate discrepancies. Update various weekly/monthly job cost related KPI's. Assist in reconciling discrepancies between job cost and G/L systems as deemed necessary. Be the primary facilitator of the annual audit with respect to job cost related inquiries Support the CFO in the preparation of the monthly WIP report and related accounting entries. Collaborate with the Controller and CFO on budget and forecasting projects Assist in the preparation of annual insurance policy renewals and audits BENEFITS: Medical and prescription coverage with eligibility on the 1st of the month following the first full month of employment.
