We are currently seeking a candidate for the 1st Shift Trailer Maintenance Technician role in our Jessup, MD facility
Primary Responsibilities
I. TRAILER MAINTENANCE
Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs on tractor and trailer units to company and Department of Transportation (DOT) standards.
Conducts machine setup, troubleshooting and repair service.
Diagnose and repair medium to heavy-duty tractor and trailersPosition trailers and tractors in and out of maintenance shopPerform tire changes and brake workPerform preventative maintenance on tractor and trailer equipment including routine technical repairs and completing repair orders.Utilize appropriate resources such as parts manual and computer, service bulletins and other resources to research problems and determine solutions.Ensure proper documentation is complete, including permits, repair orders, filing, etc.II. PRODUCTION MAINTENANCE
Performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment and provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled productions runs.Performs mechanical work including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines. Responsible for PM‘s of all plant equipment.Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.III. SAFETY AND ADMINISTRATION
Attends and participates in monthly safety meetings.Wears required personal protection equipment (PPE).Attends trainings as needed and completes required testing with sufficient results.Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rulesResponsible for safety, cleanliness, and organization of maintenance department.Communicates with supervisor and other maintenance personnel.Coordinates and administers company policies as they relate to the maintenance department.Conducts tests and reports items regarding insurance qualifications to meet safety regulations and standards.IV. QUALITY:
Maintains and verifies that all current quality assurance measures are being followed and communicated to supervisors, production employees, truck drivers, office personnel, and customers.Assists in the design and implementation of new procedures as needed.V. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employee can be expected to be exposed to extremes in temperatures as well as work environment.Expected to lift, push, pull, and carry weights in excess of 60 lbs.Position requires the ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, kneel and squat for extended periods.Must have the ability to climb ladders, stairs, and scaffolds, as well as being comfortable working at various heights including the tallest structures in the facility, approximately 150’ high.VI. QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma/GED required; technical degree preferred3 - 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environmentDOT Certification required; ability to perform certified DOT inspectionsStrong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systemsPLC programming and troubleshooting experience preferredAir brake certification preferredWelding and cutting experience preferredAbility to work safely and independently with minimal supervisionExceptional organizational and problem-solving skillsMust possess a personal set of basic toolsProficient with basic computer systems, including email, work orders, and training platformsAbility to operate forklifts, telehandlers, small mobile equipment, manlifts, and aerial work platformsPhysical ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs. and perform climbing, standing, walking, crouching, squatting, bending, and kneelingMay be assigned to assist with other maintenance-related duties as neededCOMPENSATION

SHIPPING/RECEIVINGOperate forklifts safely and efficiently.Load and unload shipments from AWF and customer trucks and containers.Move finished goods and materials to and from designated staging or storage areas.Verify shipment accuracy against bills of lading.Secure loads to ensure safe transport and ensure product loaded is clean and not damaged.Accurately scan all loads.
